Covering well over 180,000 hectares of land in Southern Alberta, it is the proud home to over 10,000 registered members. Standoff is a hamlet in southern Alberta in Cardston County, located on Highway 2, 43 kilometres (27 mi) southwest of Lethbridge. About the Opportunity The Standoff community, located on the Blood Indian Reserve where BTDH operates, is currently searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead their team towards a healthier future. In this key role, working for The Blood Tribe Department of Health, you will provide overall direction to the organization, ensuring that The Board's directives, policies, and initiatives are implemented and followed. In this highly visible position, you will take the lead in creating partnerships and fostering current relationships with all stakeholders including funding bodies, tribal and community organizations, community leadership, and off-reserve services and organizations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will contribute to building an atmosphere whereby employees support and stand by the mantra of delivering only the highest quality of service to members of The Blood Tribe. To qualify for this varied role, you will need the following: A Degree in Health Services Administration (alternatively a Degree in Management, Finance or Human Services will also be considered); A minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in a leadership role in Health Management; and An understanding of federal, provincial, territorial, local legislative regulations, and contracting and change management. In this key position, you'll be successful if you have proven experience negotiating and working within strategic partnerships. You have experience building and nurturing lasting relationships with key business partners and government agencies while you all work towards a common goal for the good of the organization. Because you will be working with various stakeholders, you will need to attend and facilitate group meetings. We're looking for an individual with a high level of integrity who holds themselves highly accountable and is able to adhere to a strict level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive situations.Also, an understanding of financial reports, including budgetary guidelines and expenditures will definitely put you at an advantage above the rest. The successful applicant will need to develop a solid understanding of the specific needs of the Blood Tribe, and a good understanding of the Blackfoot Culture will be considered an asset. You have excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills, and you have no problem assigning and delegating work. You enjoy being presented with problems and providing effective solutions. You motivate yourself to follow through on projects, and your analytical skills, coupled with your planning and prioritization abilities makes you an excellent leader when it comes to devising effective solutions to existing problems.
